The Orchard calendar begins in the Spring with the Blessing of our Apple Blossoms, when Summer fades the action heats up with August starting our spectacular Apple Season. Kicking the Apple Season off is our Annual Appletennial Fall Festival. This year’s event offers; Cactus Willie, 8 bands, crafters of all kinds, food, beverages, artists and more. This year’s Appletennial dates are August 3, 4 & 5. Admission is $5, with your ticket being good towards $5 off a peck of apples on your next visit to the Orchard. Mark your calendars. When autumn hits full swing starting in October, Sponsel’s Minnesota Harvest hits it’s peak with more apples than you can imagine, as well as pumpkins, strawberries (first year 2012), and of course our famous wagon rides through this naturally gorgeous property.
As always you can pick your own apples or buy fresh picked in the Apple Lodge, all the way through November.
Fall 2012 we hope to have our bakery up and running. In memory of the mother of the brood that planted this land we’re naming the new bakery after her: Mid’s Bake Shoppe (she had a wicked sweet tooth!) The Lodge Grill will offer light lunch fare; hot dogs, brats, pulled meat sandwiches, and other delicious lunch foods. As always our Caramel Apples are handmade with apples picked straight from our trees.
