Minnesota Harvest is one of America's premiere apple orchards, featuring twenty-five exciting new apple varieties that we bred right here on site, and seventy-five more varieties ranging from established favorites to the very newest introductions, including some "hidden gems." That's how we do our food and music, too...with variety and creativity, looking for remarkable results. We love what we do, and we hope you do, too!

Directions from the Twin Cities: Hwy 169 south until 2 miles past Jordan. Turn left on Co. Rd 59. Go 3/4 mile up hill, then turn right on Co. Rd 66. Go 3/4 mile to Apple Lover's Lane. Turn left into the orchard entrance up the hill into the woods. see map

Pre-picked and u-pick apples
We grow over one hundred apple varieties, having planted more than 30,000 trees. This includes twenty-five varieties from our own breeding work at Sponsel's Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard (work we started in 1973). The only place on earth where these apples are grown is right here! Among them are Sponselli, Tiger, Golden Earl, Pineapple, Austin, London, Scarlet O'Haralson, Plum Crabbie, Nectarapple, Golden Haralson, Black Cherry, and Sugar Shack. There are unique and wonderful characteristics in these apples that truly expand the range of the delightful apple kingdom. We also grow all of Minnesota's most popular apples from the University of Minnesota's breeding program, one of the best in the world, which began in the 1860's. These include the rising star of the international apple industry Honeycrisp, our long-time favorite Haralson, the remarkably flavored Fireside and Connell Red and Honeygold, the new high-quality, early Zestar, the long-keeping Keepsake, and the extraordinary Chestnut Crab. And we grow several varieties that the University has not released or named, known only as MN 1691, MN 1661, MN 1606, and others. Apple lovers love it here!

We have a pre-picked apples, u-pick apples, a full kitchen, bakery, wagon rides, hiking trails, petting farm, pony rides, live music, and horse trail rides.
